I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science.
I have a Level 1 nutrition certification from Precision Nutrition (Pn1).
I am passionate about the Afro-Brazilian art of Capoeira Angola. Capoeira Angola is a natural mix of dance, fight, music, and acrobatics.
I have been practicing martial arts for over ten years. Along with Capoeira, I currently enjoy practicing Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I have trained clients of very diverse backgrounds, ranging from 15-80 years old with diverse goals. These goals include: increasing muscle mass, getting leaner, losing weight, getting stronger, getting healthier, learning advanced acrobatics, and staying in shape during pregnancy.
My fitness story:
As a child, I was overweight when I decided to take up martial arts as a way to lose weight and boost my self-confidence. Along the way, I started to notice teaching methods and strength and conditioning techniques that my teachers and coaches used. While practicing martial arts, I developed a passion for teaching and coaching, as well as an understanding of nutrition. Naturally, when it came time to go college, I decided to major in Exercise Science and a year and a half after I graduated, I acquired my CSCS certification.
